Life Saver for Morning or Throat-Based Bad Breath

Review Date: June 25, 2010

Therabreath may help you if, like me, you have one or more of the following issues: (1) bad breath based in the throat - so even immediately after brushing and flossing, you feel like you have a lump in your throat and your breath still doesn't smell so great, (2) severe morning breath, (3) bad breath that feels related to having a dry mouth, or (4) tonsilloliths, or tonsil stones - little yellowish stones that gather in your tonsils.

I've tried a number of Therabreath products, but the two that have really worked for me are the Dr. Katz TheraBreath Plus Toothpaste, Extra Strength, with Oxyd-8 and Zinc - RX, 4-Ounce Tubes (Pack of 5) and Dr. Katz TheraBreath Plus Oral Rinse Extra Strength (Pack of 5). (I'm writing this same review for both of them because I use them together and my experience applies to them both). It cleans your teeth and mouth and addresses bad breath without the use of counterproductive junk that you'll find in most other toothbrushes and toothpastes, like alcohol (dries your mouth out and makes breath worse), sodium lauryl sulfate (in most toothpastes to create foaming, but does nothing beneficial, dries your mouth, and causes canker sores), saccharin (carcinogen), and more.

The Therabreath website is loaded with helpful information, and links to a few clinical studies, but I'll add my own personal experiment here. Before I found out about Therabreath, I asked my wife to warn me when I had bad breath, and basically every day - both morning and evening - I would be warned. Since I started using Therabreath a year ago, I have been warned exactly one time - right after I had a sandwich loaded with raw onions. I don't even have morning breath anymore.

If you're frustrated by halitosis, dry mouth, bad taste in your throat, or tonsil stones, it would be a real mistake not to try these products.
